1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Torrealbas at torrealbas.com and related services (the “Service”). By creating a password, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Torrealbas is an invite-only family finance workspace. It may include household membership, linked balances and transaction insights, budgeting, recurring bills and in-app calendars, optional Assist guidance, optional SMS alerts (Settings control in development), and other household helpers such as limited email or invitation/RSVP features as we ship them.
Torrealbas is not a bank, broker, tax advisor, or fiduciary. You cannot operate your bank account through the Service. Information in the app is for household organization and is not financial, legal, or tax advice.
3. Eligibility and accounts
Access requires a valid invite and an email/password account. There is no public self-registration. Keep your password confidential and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You are responsible for activity under your account. Only invite people you trust with shared household financial information.
4. Bank linking and insights
If you connect a financial institution, you authorize Torrealbas and Plaid to access account and transaction information as described in Plaid Link and Plaid’s terms and privacy policy. You represent that you have authority to link each account.
Synced data may power in-app insights, budgets, and Assist answers. Torrealbas does not initiate bank transfers or otherwise interact with your bank on your behalf. Data from institutions may be delayed or inaccurate; we are not responsible for bank or aggregator errors.
5. Assist (AI)
Assist may read household finance data stored in Torrealbas to help answer your question. Assist cannot access your bank credentials or execute bank actions. Temporary AI context used for a question is not retained as a lasting copy of your full transaction history and is not used to train third-party AI models. Chat threads you keep may store conversation text in your account.
6. Communications and SMS
We may send service emails to your account address (for example security and invite notices).
Optional SMS notifications for finances may be enabled in Settings. If you opt in, you consent to receive Torrealbas texts at the number you provide — up to 8 finance messages per month. To Do task reminders are a separate opt-in managed in To Do settings; their frequency follows the reminders you set on tasks (one-time or recurring daily/weekly/monthly) and may exceed the finance message volume. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel and HELP for help. SMS consent is not required to use the web Service with email login.
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
7. Email, calendar, recurring events, and invitations
The Service may help manage household recurring items and calendars in-app, and may later support limited email or invitation/RSVP flows you authorize. Those features will not require unrestricted access to all of your external data, and sensitive information will be handled securely as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service: no access to other households’ data, no interference with security, no abuse of Assist or APIs, and no unlawful use.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms were violated or to protect households or the Service.
9. Intellectual property
Torrealbas branding, software, and content we provide are owned by Torrealbas or its licensors. You retain rights to information you submit. You grant us a limited license to host and process that information solely to operate the Service for your household.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that balances, transactions, budgets, alerts, or Assist answers are error-free or uninterrupted.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TORREALBAS AND ITS PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. You may stop using the Service at any time.
